Train-in Fishing

All aboard for the fishing adventure of a lifetime!

Armstrong is the jump-off point for wilderness adventure in Wabakimi Park, the Albany River watershed and the vast expanse of forests and lakes north of the Albany. Several first class train-in outfitters can deliver you to remote outpost cabins and canoe trips on lightly fished lakes and rivers, where you’ll find an abundance of big walleyes, northern pike and trout.

Catch the train at Armstrong Station for a relaxing and scenic journey.  If you choose, you can load your canoe on board and paddle your way back.  Or catch a float plane for a different perspective.

Bear Paw Lodge
Bear Paw LodgeBear Paw Lodge is located in the heart on prime habitat for the majestic Canadian moose and the cunning black bear near the community of Armstrong Station. We are 140 miles north of Thunder Bay on Highway 527. Caribou Lake is over 40 thousand acres and has holes reaching over 250 ft. It has incredible structure for walleye to hide in and many grassy bays where monster northerns lurk.
