Ice Climbing
With 110 waterfalls as big as 130 feet high and freezing up to 33 feet thick, the Pijitawabik Palisades in Greenstone boast the greatest concentration of climbable ice east of the Rockies. These 500 foot cliffs draw ice and rock climbers from all over the world to Orient Bay to test this imposing precipice.
The Annual Nipigon Ice Fest is held upon the towering cliffs each spring, each year attracting climbers from around the world.
