Nipigon -
Canada’s Crossroads to Land and Lake Adventures
Nipigon is a natural visitor destination anytime of year. Nestled against a backdrop of dramatic landscapes and the world’s largest freshwater lake, Nipigon has a wealth of activities to offer all ages, the likes of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
The Paddle-to-The-Sea
Park is Nipigon’s newest attraction. Located in the heart of the downtown, this world-class children’s park leads families on a journey through the Great Lakes, following the renowned story of the Paddle-to-The-Sea children’s book by Holling C. Holling. This classic story was captured by famous Canadian canoeist Bill Mason in his Oscar nominated National Film Board production, Paddle-to-the-Sea.
The interactive story is told through the eyes of a young First Nations boy and features hands-on experiences of discovery and adventure for children.
Paddle-to-The-Sea
Park
is an engaging expression of
Nipigon’s close
historical and cultural connection to the land and the lakes. Today, just as in the pages of its storied past, Nipigon is a legendary outdoor playground for adventures
on both
land and lake.
